A Dramatic Week of Challenging Rescues
Phil saw one of his most challenging rescues yet at 7.00 pm on Friday 24 June. A call from the owners of an elderly Labrador who had been missing since 11.30 am in Nether Broughton, Leicestershire. At 7.30pm Phil went over with the drone to search. After a few hours and a bit of investigation work she was located in a concrete pipe where she was stuck 5 metres in.
You can see her if you zoom in on the photo. We had to call the fire Brigade but managed to retrieve her and get her out before they arrived. It was one of the most challenging rescues I have been involved with on a dog search. The dog is totally fine and home safe now.
Challenge 2 came with a rescue dog who had been on the run for 3 days around the Southwell area culminating in a dramatic dash by Phil and a road being closed by police when the dog got trapped under a stationery caravan. The dog refused to move for over an hour but was fortunately not harmed.
Our new Drone Pilot in Gloucester, Sarah, got off to a great start with her first rescue of a 14 year old deaf girl who had been missing for 11 hours. She was reunited with her elderly owner who had tragically lost his wife a month before so finding his companion was hugely important. Well done Sarah.
Raffle
We had a fantastic turnout for the Security Talk held at Quayside Café in Colwick and our first mega raffle was well received with ticket sales raising a huge £473!! Loads of prizes were handed out including a weekend break in a caravan in Ingoldmells, vouchers for meals at local pubs, a fabulous hand-painted canvas of Amy Winehouse, lots of alcohol, dog treats/bowls/harnesses too many to mention but a huge thank you to everyone who donated.  Nearly everyone left with a prize!
We will be looking for more prizes for other raffles in the future so if you would like to donate a gift please get in touch. All monies raised will go to the Charity to purchase more equipment.
